Ingredients
- Bottle Gourd - 1 cup
- Tomato - 1
- Red chilies - 8 nos
- Shallots - 6 nos
- Turmeric
- Tamarind - small lemon size
- Salt
For Tempering
- Oil
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tbsp
- Chana Dal - 1 /2 tbsp
- Urad Dal - 1/2 tbsp
- Curry Leaves
Steps
- Wash the bottle gourd and remove the skin and cut them into small pieces.
- Take a pan add 1 cup of finely chopped bottle gourds, add the tomato, add turmeric powder,and then add 8 red chilies, shallots,and salt, finally add 2-3 cups of water.
- Cook this for 10-15 minutes.
- Now strain the water and mash the bottle gourd to a smooth paste.(Or) you can transfer this to a mixer jar and make a smooth paste.
- Once we get the smooth consistency, add the tamarind extract water and the strained bottle gourd water.
- Cook this for 10 minutes on medium flame.
- Turn off the stove.
- Heat a pan and add 3- 4 tbsp of oil.
- Add 1/2 tbsp of mustard seeds, once the mustard seeds start splattering, add the chana dal and urad dal, and the curry leaves.
- Now add this tempered ingredients to the bottle gourd curry.
- Bottle Gourd curry is ready to serve.
