Medu vada Recipe / Ulundu vadai / Inuppu Vadai Recipe


Medu vada Recipe

  Total Time : 1 Hour 30 Minutes
  Cuisine : South Indian








  Ingredients :

  1. Urad dal - 1 cup
  2. Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  3. Pepper - 1 tbsp
  4. Green or Red chilli -3 nos
  5. Few curry leaves (finely chopped)
  6. Few coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  7. Water
  8. Oil for deep fry

  To grind :

  1. Urad dal
  2. Water                                                                                                                                              

 Steps :

  1. Soak the Urad dal for 1 hour.
  2. Strain the water and transfer the dal to a mixer jar and add little water at a time and grind it to a smooth and thick batter.
  3. Add 3 red chilli or green chilli ,1 tbsp of pepper,salt,and few curry leaves finely chopped mix well.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan .Wet your palms and take a lemon size batter,press it gently and make thick round shape vada.
  5. Then slowly slide vada in it.
  6. Flip and deep fry both the sides until they turn light golden brown.
  7. Medu vada is ready,serve with chutney or sambar.
